A number of solar power systems installed in New Zealand is on the rise!
In August 2013 there were 1,279 solar power systems registered with New Zealand’s Electricity Authority, and as of July 2016 there are 10,912 solar power systems installed.
In less than three years a number of solar power systems in New Zealand have increased more than 8.5 times.

The Average Solar Power System Size in New Zealand
According to the Electricity Authority, the average residential solar power system size installed in July 2016 was a 3.5kW system. Compared to August 2013 the average system size back then was a 3.8kW system.
The Total Capacity Installed (MW)
In terms of total capacity installed as of July 2016 there is 42.5 MW, compared to just 5.4 MW back in August 2013.
