How does it work?

Evacuated Tubes have revolutionized the solar industry, now heating water with solar energy is more than a summer option. They are also attachable to your existing hot water cylinder, saving you the cost of a cylinder upgrade. The tubes are evacuated like double glazed windows stopping heat loss out of the system. The water is always well insulated meaning you can gain solar energy in even below zero degree outside temperatures.

Our systems work by capturing the solar UV radiation in an absorbent coating on the outside of the inner glass of the solar tube. This heat is then transferred through the glass through aluminum fins to a heat pipe. The hydrocarbon in the heat pipe is under a vacuum and therefore boils at very low temperatures.

The liquid moves the heat up through the heat pipe to the manifold where it is captured in a heat exchange by the water flowing from the Hot Water Cylinder. The heated water is always insulated and protected from the environment. This is similar to how a wetback operates but with a lot more control.
